“Let all people and all governments respect the rights of others; among individuals as between nations, peace lies through the respect of the rights of all others.”
- Benito Juarez, President of Mexico

This statement embodies the ideal upon which the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy is based. Dedicated to the dissemination of information about the rights of Latinos, the Journal strives to keep the legal community familiar with relevant issues and promote an accord among the people of Texas and of the nation.

THJLP seeks to be the leading national journal dedicated to the discussion of legal issues important to the Hispanic community. THJLP strives to be more than a traditional academic law journal. THJLP was established to serve as an academic and neutral forum open to all views for the analysis of novel, significant, or developing legal issues affecting Hispanics. The Journal is also committed to publishing issues of public policy relevant to the Hispanic community. THJLP will publish materials from within and outside the legal community as viewed by Hispanics and non-Hispanics, including scholarly articles, book reviews, student notes, biographical pieces, art work and recent developments that demonstrate the relationship of Hispanics with the legal, governmental, or other societal communities. THJLP will not espouse a particular viewpoint, nor will it serve as a political mouthpiece. It is and will remain a neutral forum open to the views of all worthy commentators.
